A massive apology to Ex Parkside player and legend Jimmy Stockdill Jimmys birthday was on the 8th of this month so I’m only 17 days late announcing it. Jim was born on the 8th November 1934 making him 85years and 17 days old today. He signed professional forms for Hunslet RLFC from the now extinct Buslingthorpe Vale ARLC on the 20/10/1955. He made his first appearance in Hunslets 1st team the day before he turned professional and that was against Leigh RLFC and according to Harry Jepson’s records the game was played in London. In total Jim played 174 first team games scoring 63 true and kicking 3 goals. He finished his Hunslet playing days in November 1962.

For once I’m on time with the next birthday greetings, in fact 2 days early. Many Happy returns to Dave Hall who will be 68years old on the 21st November Dave tread the Parkside turf in the early 70s. He his still very active with the Amateur game in Hunslet helping out at the Hunslet Warriors.

We will be wishing two more OAP happy birthday later this week. Watch this space.
