BOB PICKLES–dob 2nd March 1945 An easy date to remember 2.3.45

Bob attended
Middleton Secondary Modern School when I asked Bob who his rugby teacher was I was
surprised to hear it was the much travelled Bill Crann.

I wonder how
many Ex Parksiders Bill coached at school boy level during his teaching career.

Bob represented
Hunslet City School at rugby league then went on to play for the Hunslet Juniors & Intermediate sides
before signing professional forms in
October 1961 for massive sum of £50

Bob made his
1st team debut against Bradford Northern at Odsal on the 9th
October 1965.

In total Bob
made 21 first team appearances before been transferred to Keighley RLFC in
August 1967 for a fee of £1000.

After he
retired from playing Bob crossed the river to the dark side of the city to take
up a successful coaching / scouting position.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ROBERT

BOB BINGHAM….
dob 4th March 1945…….aka BIG BOB

Bob attended
Dewsbury Road CP School he says the CP stands for county prison.

An outstanding
and feared prop forward Bob was very unfortunate not to be offered professional
terms at Hunslet RLFC.

After leaving
Parkside he continued his rugby playing for Bus Vale RLC.

Bob as not
been in the best of heath over the last few months so on behalf of the ex
Parksiders we wish him a speedy recovery.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BB smiley
