Went to
S.L.S. On Good Friday to watch the Hunslet Hawks Play Oldham R.L.C. It was a good game of rugby and Hunslet finished up worthy
winners.

There was
a number of Ex Parksiders watching the match Phil Horrocks, George
Gomersall, Stuart Keane, Ray Abbey, Bob Pickles & Gordon Tindale,

Phil
Horrocks told the tale of when he was working as a painter at a site
in Oldham and he ran out of white spirits. He went to the local
corner shop and asked the Lancashire man who was running the shop if
he sold turps, the Oldham man asked him do you want video turps or
cassette turps. Phil’s reply is unprintable but he went back to the
site packed up his tools and returned back to gods own county
Yorkshire.
