For my very special man my husband Alan, whom I loved dearly

I wish to thank a very special choir who appeared free of charge at Hunslet Parish Church on the 14th March 2014 they are very special men who belong to an elite group Ex Hunslet Parkside Players the group who gave up their valuable time for my very special man my husband whom I loved dearly and have been with for 54 years your appearance was so emotional and you rendition of “We’ve Swept The Seas Before Boys” made the tears flow there wasn’t a dry eye in the room …..That memory will stay with us forever you made our family so very proud,…as Alan’s illness deteriorated he almost lost his speech but we would spend hours singing with him this is something strange with Alzheimer’s music make the patients happy so we spent hours singing and his favourite was “Show me the way to go home” and the Hunslet War Cry and tears just used to appear and roll down his face that song meant so much to him so to have it sung by his favourite pals was heart wrenching, What else can I say but a MASSIVE BIG THANKYOU TO YOU ALL who brought a smile just a small one with our tears on a very sad day…….God Bless You All Margaret Preece and Family
