The Hunslet RL ex Parkside Players wish to congratulate The Hunslet Warriors on the successful season they have just had in the National Conference League Division 1 and there promotion into the top grade National Conference Premier League.
It is the first time in the 20 years history of the Warriors that they will be playing at this level of Rugby League and the Ex Parkside Players wish them all the very best for next year and will be looking forward to them having another successful season both on and off the field.
Last Friday Ray Abbey and myself attended the Warriors 13th Annual ‘Comedy’ Dinner and presentation event at The Irish Centre we had a very good time and wish to thank the Warriors for inviting us. Ray was upset because he had to buy a round of beer(first time this year) but he soon recovered. I think that was because he never went to the bar again, the excuse he made was his knees were very painful and it was hard work for him to carry them 2 pints from the bar.

The Warriors players that received awards were=

JAKE CORNEY, Young Player of the Year

DARYL GAUNT, Supporters Player of the Year

CALDON BRAVO, Warrior of the year, The Player of the Year and the Top Try Scorer of the year.

At any sporting club I believe that the most prestigious award that a player can win is The Players-Player of the year and that was won by LUKE PENNINGTON.

A big congratulations to the Warriors 1st team coach SIMON PEACH who did a magnificent job with the team.
I understand that Simon is leaving the coaches position for business reason we wish him all the best and in Rugby League terms he will be a very hard act to follow
